Spam can sink a website in search engine rankings in all aspects of SEO, including both links and content. SEO has changed over the past ten years, and having a keyword field filled with the same keyword and related key phrases over and over again won’t help raise a website’s rankings. In fact, only having a keyword field won’t do much of anything to boost a website’s rankings. As getting to the first page on the top three search engines is more competitive, so are the standards for an optimized website. The first error in optimizing a website that is sure to sink a website is creating spam content.
Creating high-quality content is a white-hat SEO practice and, typically, leads to longer-lasting search engine rankings. Spam content, which is often low-quality, somewhat nonsensical content with repeated keywords throughout, can be construed as a black-hat SEO practice. A black hat SEO practice is, by definition, an unethical SEO practice which is occasionally used on websites to help them get rankings quickly before that said website is “burned” or “black listed” on the top three search engines. In a sense, a black-hat SEO practice like spam content is the equivalent of detox dieting – significant results quickly but, in no time at all, you’re back to where you started, as the results don’t last.
Creating high quality SEO content for a website may take a longer time but, as the content created is still within search engine ethical standards, the website won’t be burned and black listed into internet oblivion. Instead, when search engines like Google and Yahoo pick up on the well-written authentic content, the rankings of the website should increase and stay that way.
In terms of creating non-spam content, SEO content is simply writing with emphasis on certain keywords and phrases to optimize a page. The SEO content should be written in standard English without too many repeated keywords. Write as you would normally and focus on the relevant keywords and phrases in the text.

Information like this is considered general white-hat SEO practices. Essentially, the best way to create non-spam content is to write in standard English and incorporate the appropriate keyword phrases. Don’t incorporate the phrases too much so that the text seems saturated, but do it often enough so that the search engine sees the use of the phrase in context.
